Title:            Independent  Financial Advisor (Qualified to Full FPC Minimum) 

 

Reports to:     Directors (Keith Hartland and Patrick Ryan)

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

You have an excellent opportunity to join a firm of highly successful Independent Financial Advisers based in Salisbury, operating across all spheres of financial services, to both private and corporate clients.  The firm is RDR compliant and is embracing the new era of greater professionalism.  The objective for this role is to provide quality advice to the firm’s clients, which will in turn support the continued growth of the business.

 

THE ROLE

You will provide independent financial advice to your own clients as well as clients of the company.  You will work closely with the other Advisers and support staff.  All procedures, compliance monitoring, management of tasks, portfolio construction, business processing, client research and reviews are taken care of by the support staff.

 

You will be qualified to a minimum of full FPC or the equivalent, willing to progress to Diploma level within 2 years, 3 years minimum advice experience.  Experience in the independent sector is an advantage but not essential.  Excellent communication skills and strong technical knowledge of pension regulations and Investment Portfolios is essential.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

v Full FPC qualification

v GCSE Mathematics

v GCSE English Language & English Literature 

v 3 year previous financial advice experience

 

PERSONAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

v Proficiency in using IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook    Express (for e-mails) and generally computer literate (experience in industry-specific applications is advantageous)

v Good communication skills are essential, both for dealing with clients and staff.

v Must be able to work proactively alone but also within the group as an active part of a team

v Be able to show initiative and have the ability to think ‘quickly on own feet’

v Ability to delegate work

v Ability to learn quickly and accurately

v Willingness to sit industry exams as required and develop professionally

v Willing to have client meetings at the office or clients home or place of work

 

THE PACKAGE

 

v The role is for an employed Adviser based at our head office

v Office and meeting space is provided

v Full administrational support and paraplanning services provided in-house

v Full IT system and support

v Investment proposition support

v OTE of £75,000 + - dependant on applicant’s experience and ability

v Basic Salary Range £20,000 - £25,000

v Bonus structure directly based on earnings

v 21 Days Holiday, plus extra days off over Christmas period
