PARA PLANNER VACANCY
Title: Qualified Para Planner (Qualified to Full FPC)
Reports to: Partners (Keith Hartland and Patrick Ryan)

The Opportunity:
This role involves providing full consultant support through carrying out product and fund research, based on information provided by the Consultant, therefore awareness of how products are structured would be highly advantageous. You will be drafting reports, writing~reason-why(trademark) letters, conducting research, providing recommendations and attending client meetings when required. This is an ideal opportunity to develop as a Para Planner within a professional and highly established firm. You will be working as part of an existing team of Administrators therefore delegation and communication skills are important
The Successful Individual:
Candidates will come from an IFA background with experience as a Para Planner. You will hold full product knowledge ranging between investment/life/pensions, with particular emphasis on SIPPs, Investment Portfolio's and IHT planning. It is essential for candidates to have the full FPC qualification, ideally with progression towards AFPC. You will be confident, well presented, have a good telephone manner and have the ability to work using your own initiative. Salary is dependant on experience from £22,000 - £28,000 + benefits and a bonus scheme relating to Consultant performance.
DUTIES
- Technical research and preparation for client meetings
- Preparing client reports and suitability letters
- Preparing pension transfer analysis reports
- Handling technical client queries
- Creation of client portfolios
- Ensuring the team complies with FSA and internal compliance procedures
- Attending monthly group actions meetings
- Data input for new clients and updating of existing clients’ records
- Deal with client/company enquiries and problems – either via the telephone or face-to-face contact
- Writing letters to clients and companies – mainly using standard template letters
- Completing forms prior to sending out to client
- On receipt of completed application forms and signed documents processing them according to internal procedures before sending on
- Ensure any relevant documentation is scanned onto the system under the client’s name accurately before sending out or filing
- Ensuring all client files are compliant
- Deal with any outstanding items required in order that an application can be processed quickly by the company
- Chase pipeline work, managing a diary system, chasing any outstanding business with companies
- Other requests as specified
- Full FCP qualification
- GCSE Mathematics
- GCSE English Language & English Literature
- Previous financial office experience
- Proficient on Microsoft, Outlook Express (for e-mails) and generally computer literate (Word, Excel etc)
- Excellent organisational skills, including diary management
- Communication skills essential, both for dealing externally with clients and other companies, and internally with other members of staff
- Must be able to work proactively alone but also within the group as an active team leader
- Be able to show initiative and have the ability to think ‘quickly on own feet’
- Ability to delegate work
- Ability to learn quickly and accurately
- Willingness to work towards gaining the ability and experience to complete all duties to the accepted high standard
- Willingness to sit industry exams as required.
- Full Time Position
- Salary Range £22,000 - £28,000 OTE of £35,000 - dependant on applicants experience
- 21 Days Holiday, plus extra days off over Christmas period
